Weekend Workshops and Schedule

It’s happening; the Climate Change-Makers Innovation Challenge is THIS weekend. There’s a lot to be excited about, so we want to share a few links, a tentative schedule, and important information with you!

We want to make forming a team as simple as possible so make sure to use this matchmaking form to help us find the right team for you and join us Friday December 2nd at 7pm EST (12am GMT) for a Matchmaking Event to make sure you are ready for the opening day!

Please note that is not expected for every team and every participant to attend all workshops, and we recommend that your team choose wisely which workshops to attend which would serve the greatest benefit for you and this challenge.

·  8pm EST 1am GMT There’s Something In The Water Movie + Discussion: Join us for a movie night to watch Elliot Page explore the ecological and social disasters in rural Nova Scotia. Based on Ingrid Waldron’s work and co-directed by Ian Daniel, we hope to learn and discuss environmental justice issues and how we need to consider this lens in every climate solution.

·  12am EST 5am GMT Game Night (Midnight EST Sunday the 4th)! Let’s end Saturday positively and celebrate our coming together for climate by enjoying a fun game or activity!

·  6am EST 11am GMT Prototyping & Keeping Things Practical - based on the 10-in-10 teachings, we will dive into how to tackle complex issues such as climate change and what that means for innovating solutions! Learn how to apply the practical lens to your idea!

·  10am EST 3pm GMT The Concept of Two-Eyed Seeing - Learn the importance of blending scientific data with traditional knowledge and join us for an introduction to Netukulimk. Understand how to apply a scientific lens to your challenge while incorporating traditional knowledge and wisdom.
